Beyond my core academic portfolio in chemistry, I am deeply committed to the growth of specialized interdisciplinary initiatives at St. Berchmans College that bridge the gap between global excellence and social responsibility. Through my leadership with the Berchmans Centre for Global Academic Excellence (BCGAE), I work to expand the institution's international footprint by fostering strategic global partnerships and academic synergy. Simultaneously, my involvement with the Dr. George Padanilam Centre for Disability Studies allows me to champion the college’s mission of inclusivity, providing a robust platform for research and advocacy that empowers marginalized communities.
BCGAE conducted its first Academic Communication Internship
BCGAE conducted its first Academic Communication Internship, engaging 27 undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students in intensive training on academic writing, research methodology, citation management, and scholarly communication. The programme strengthened students’ research skills and prepared them for global academic and research environments.

BCGAE conducted a half-yearly review meeting to evaluate the Centre’s progress, achievements, and strategic direction. The meeting was attended by Fr. Dr. Teddy C. Kanjooparambil, Principal; Dr. Renjith Thomas, Dean of Global Partnerships & Innovation; Dr. Nithin Varghese; Ms. Linu Varghese, Programme Coordinator; Dr. George Padanilam; Dr. Sunny Luke; and representatives of the Dr. George Padanilam Family Foundation. The Centre presented a comprehensive review of its academic training programmes, student mentoring initiatives, and international collaboration efforts.
The meeting acknowledged the Centre’s achievements in strengthening global academic preparation and student engagement. It also identified key priority areas and established a strategic roadmap to enhance mentorship support, expand global exposure opportunities, and further strengthen structured academic training and research preparedness initiatives.
